DISUSSION TOPIC:
Why is it important that you not reveal too much of the event or character in your backstory It’ll diffuse the tension which you want to keep tight and keep building to a crescendo where you choose to release it using action or characterization. If it were going to expose the plot or reveal too much about the characterization here it would dominate these areas of the story so that they are reduced to being told in a much less dramatic fashion.
