A Light Went Out by Kat A light went out yesterday when our nation lost one of it's gentle giants. I didn't know the man personally, but I felt like I did. So did my husband. Sunday morning wasn't Sunday morning without Tim Russert and "Meet the Press". Elections weren't elections without Tim Russert and his little white board. There are so few in the fields of news coverage and journalism that command respect. There are so few that we feel we can trust to give us a complete picture and to ask the difficult questions in interviews with politicians, world leaders, columnists, tv news journalists, etc. More than that, Tim Russert was the guy next door. The guy who loved his family and admired his parents and was proud of where he came from. My husband and I feel like we've lost a friend. Yes, a light went out in the world, but that light still burns in our hearts where we hold those who are dear to us. God speed, Tim Russert. Hal and Kat
