Discussion Topic:
Can you think of an instance in your reading when the use of accents really made you lose interest or become bored with the story? Reading Brer Rabbit books when I was a kid. Can you think of an instance in which accents were rendered really effectively and interestingly? The way Gollum in the Lord of the Rings was personified with the use of his vocabulary, the phrases he used and his schizophrenic way of talking to his alter personalities was brilliant.
