MIDNIGHT'S KISS

My arms are empty since you went away
I long for your touch, your smile, your gentle way.
Delighting in each and every midnight's kiss,
Never thinking that our lives would come to this.
I miss you so much that is hard to bear
Grief that echoes in the cool night air.
How can I go on without you, dearest love?
The answer comes from God above.
'
Softly I pray for you to return to me.

Kiss me while I sleep soundly at night,
I will remember at the dawn's first light.
Silently come and hold me close once more,
Share the sweet kiss that I've been longing for.
