Caught in the heart of the tornado, the raging winds tear at my flesh...

Caught in the heart of the tornado,
the raging winds tear at my flesh
and rain lashes me clean.

The beast roared and knashed its jagged teeth.
While hail lay white on stripped bare Earth,
clouds spin 'round in dizzy circles.

Time has no meaning to me,
I have weathered many such storms
and carry the scars as proof.

I am battered and bruised, but alive.
Tonight I will rest in the darkness,
comforted by the stars above.

Tomorrow the sun will warm me
and I will tremble gently with the breeze.
The healing process has begun.

It seems like yesterday, I was but a sapling,
now I am a great tree;
patient...majestic...beautiful.
