A moment in time

She takes her son in her arms, and
praises him for being his wonderful, loving self.
Everything he says is amazing to her. His
creative soul, a gift she knows she must treasure and protect. He has
insecurities about friends, school, himself.  She strokes his hair
as he shares a story of how kids should treat each other.  She
listens to his thoughts and fears, thankful for this brief moment.

Going through their frantic days, they have
insufficient time for closeness.
Forever yearning to be still, and share a moment in
time, they know that time, itself, is the most special gift of all.

Note to poetically inquisitive
For those who just want to learn something interesting, above is an example of how to turn an acrostic poem into a more hidden one if you want to submit it to a magazine and don't want to play up the poetic form but also don't want to change what you have.  Make the caps lowercase on the left Unless its the beginning of the sentence, center the whole thing so it doesn't automatically jump out at you that theres a word on the left, and make sure your poem really says something, without needing the poem to appear as an acrostic.  I had one acrostic with the word pizza in it (note the two z's )and the words were just too fake b/c how often do you see two lines in a row starting with z. It didn't lend itself well to masquerading as a freeform poem.  This one, I think, did work.  I hope so, at least.

Below is the original acrostic version with capitals and left aligning.
