A Robin’s Song
As I awoke this morning, alone in our bed, strains of a melody filled my head. And as there I lay, so quiet and still , sunbeams danced on our window sill. A breeze blew softly from somewhere above, as robins sang sweet songs of love! A song about a lady fair, deep green eyes and auburn hair. As I heard the story of this princess bride, my heart was filled with selfish pride. For the image that burned within my mind, was that of a woman precious and kind, I knew in an instant her touch, her smell , her voice so pure, I knew it well. The angel of whom they sang you see, was everything, that you are to me. So now when ere a robin’s song I hear or feel the soft sweet warmth of sunbeams near, I think of you, my love, my life and thank God for the gift of your beautiful light!”
