AN EMPTY MASK
The real worth of life.

AN EMPTY MASK

I am but an empty mask,
Don’t rely on my looks.
Real wisdom I do lack,
Though I read all the books.

I am like the empty cloud
That passes through the sky,
Carrying no water, gives
A false hope to the eye.

I am just an empty shell
That makes too much of noise,
Forgetting that real grace
Lies in silence and poise.

I am an empty promise
That’s sweet to remember,
But in time of need does not
Any solace render.

Forget me my friend, my life
Is full of emptiness.
Adieus, my friend, I leave
For a dark wilderness.
