Summer Sun
Rated: E | Poetry | Death | #1443721
Written for a contest - Form - My first attempt at Huitain
Summer sun, blazing down, sun scorched
Red sands of deserts stretch ahead
No shadows out there, land looks torched
Silence, the bleached bones of the dead
Oasis shimmers, blue on red
Throat parched, my eyes blinded by light
No rescue, death finds me instead
Fall to my knees, breath becomes tight.
