Waiting For Tomorrow
Mankind destroys.

If I could catch a thousand rain drops,
They would become jewels in my mouth,
Unfolding my mind to the whims of the world;
A beauty that is slowly being murdered.

The starlit smiles,
The sunset’s pink and orange canvas,
The cloudy eyes of the sky,
That will soon refuse to speak.

This darkness, this despair,
These gray curls of destruction,
Openly eat away at a life,
Most will fail to comprehend.

The wind will cease to laugh,
The earth will no longer bloom,
Not even the deepest of oceans,
Will cry eternal tears.

We as a race feed this mutilation,
This on-going battle for more creation,
But what the world needs is for us to slow down,
And watch life grow from an untainted ground.

The very dew on morning grass will thank us,
The flowers will tenderly sing,
Even the thunder will fill a storm with music,
If only we could lend an ear.

If we could selflessly open our arms,
To embrace the magic that is slipping away,
I guarantee that when you open your eyes,
You’ll be ready for a better day.
