The sky is my new confessional
Morning, noon and night.
It never fails to listen
And it never puts up a fight.

It showers down its beauty
Even in the rain and
I wonder if it ever gets lonely,
If it ever feels great pain.

A stretch of blue dotted with white,
Singing with the wind.
Sometimes when we get to talking
I don’t know where to begin.

I could sit for hours,
With a fallen silence greater than time,
Loneliness may fill me and
Anger may creep up my spine.

But my listener won’t disappear,
The days will linger on
And I keep on thanking my empty friend
For never being gone.
