"Galloping Gertie"
A Dorsimbra Poem based on a Splasharama photo.

Dramatic lines entranced the hearts of folks.
Her shapely form recalled great works of art,
but soon became the brunt of many jokes--
until gyrations ripped her frame apart.

A frantic driver scrambled to safety
as his lonely car rode
tons of crumbled concrete and mangled steel
into murky waters below.

The glamorous Tacoma Narrows Bridge
exposed more engineering hubris gone
amuck, just like Titanic’s grim demise.
Dramatic lines entranced the hearts of folks.
