Flight or Folly
My first stab at poetry

I stand upon an apogee
Should I fall, or should I flee?
If I should fall I'll surely be
Drowned within the ceaseless sea.

If I instead should run away
Here I'll be some other day.
Gazing down on salt and spray
Thoughts still drenched in disarray.

A fretful choice I can't deny
I only shake my head and sigh.
And with a glance up to the sky
I simply spread my wings and fly.
