Setting Summer Sun

Late in the evening children play
summer’s sunlight still warm and bright
since long has grown this summer day.
As fireflies begin to light,
the golden sun slips out of sight.
Slowly beyond the horizon
sinks the warm setting sun tonight
painting the clouds hues of crimson.
