                           ONE DAY IN THE WOODS

         “Are we lost?”

         “No”

         “Well then where are we?”

“The sun is over there.  We are walking south so if we keep on this way we will come to the road.”

         “And then what?”

         “Keep walking.”

         “You always get us lost.”

         “I do not.”

“Yes, you do. And then you won’t ask directions.”

“Hey there’s an idea.  Yo!  Squirrel.  Over here.  Which way is the road?  Stupid squirrel! He lives here and he doesn’t know.”

“Well I want to get back to camp before dark.”

“Yeah that’d be my first choice, too.”

“I think we’re going in circles.”

“No, we aren’t.  The sun is to our right, see!  Listen! I heard a car.  We’re getting to the road…”

“Or it’s a boat and we’re getting to the lake.”

“There!  See?  The road.  What did I tell you?”

“It will be a long walk back.”

“That’s why they call it a hike.”

         “I smell food.”

         “So do I.  Look! A MacDonald’s sign!”

         “Civilization.  I’m starved!”

“Am I a woodsman or what?  I led us to food.”

         “My hero.”
