The Time Machine

“I’ve invented a time machine,” said Professor Abernethie, pressing a button.
Lights flashed. A dynamo whined.
“It requires enormous amounts of power; going back is impossible, going forward is slow. It takes a minute to advance a minute.”
A timer pinged.
“And here I am, one minute into the future. Proof that my machine works!”
