The world is filled with hate and fear.
Decline and poverty prevail. The multitudes, with out stretched hand await their fate too late The rich man sits atop the hill The capital won’t bend its will. The children sleep in cardboard homes as parents pray and hope for help. A call to arms is issued forth. A call for all to fall. The poor arise against a force That will not bend or alter course As torches flare and pitchforks wave. The cause is lost, you cannot fight a government that calls the shots. You see your freedom flee. Now all is lost, you cannot fight a system that is full of spite. Return to homes and break your back. Return to work for less than that. Just smile and wave as they go by. We tried with pride and died. The system holds. It will not die. The people fail and wonder why. A Revanche II poem. Stanzas 1,3,5,7 are quatrain that use iambic tetrameter in the first three verses and iambic trimeter in the fourth. These verses do not rhyme. (with an exception I could not resist) Stanzas 2,4,6,and 8 are couplets rhymed in iambic tetrameter. They rhyme in A,B,C,D I added internal rhyme in the last verse of the four quatrains.
