** #1439781 Not An Image ** “Two Old Friends” Hiking around the lake I discovered them. Two old friends Sunning themselves by the shore, Momentarily abandoned by their owner, cooling in a swim. Their soles full of pride in their owner- Their tongues speak volumes: Of basketball games played at the corner court Of hurdles jumped and races won Of mile of hikes and long bike rides I wave At the owner, And press on around the lake, Wondering what my kicks Would eventually say About me.
