JUDITY
Judity A. Buxton, the WDC author I admire most.

JUDITY

I always thought that women have
A poetical mind;
That they are confused creatures of
A pretty special kind.

Expecting them to use proper
Grammar, punctuation,
Was difficult, I do admit
Without hesitation.

This rather stereotype notion
Was called into question
When I met more than a match in
Judity A. Buxton.

I read “Red Fox” and the “Gray Dog”,
And also “Green Dolphin”,
“The Seraglio of the Gods” and
Whatever she did spin.

I must say that I never found
Mistakes in what she wrote.
I was greatly impressed by her
Pen’s each and every stroke.

The softness and intricacy
Of all her description
Of male and female characters
Showed keen observation.

Her stories are a marvel of
A scheming, plotting mind.
For long hours in her spell she can
Her every reader bind.

I can admire her but cannot
In her footsteps follow
In her genre my knowledge is
Rather too much shallow.

Just like the North and the South Pole,
Like the thorn and the rose,
Like East and West, the twain can’t meet,
Poetry and the prose.
