I come to you in dreams that you have dreamt Most ev’ry night, for since that fateful day No longer can I hug or kiss or tempt – Beside you here you cannot feel me lay. I watch you go about your daily life, Just wishing I could somehow ease your pain. For fifty years I called myself your wife And hand in hand we walked through sun and rain. I see you think you walk this Earth alone For I am not right by your side it seems. I may no longer be of flesh and bone But I will always come to you in dreams. Remember all the places we have been Know someday soon I’ll be with you again. This poem is dedicated to my grandmother, Arlene, who passed away from Pancreatic Cancer on May 31st, 2008. The love she had of life, of love, of family, and of friends was strong, and she was without a doubt, the greatest influence in my life. This is for you, Gramma. Rest In Peace.
