BREAK THE FAST
The long, dark night of gloom is past; The sky has got a ray of sun. Let’s cast away the thoughts of death. Let’s, along with the living, run. The fading of the stars o’erhead Tells our troubles will also fade. As a new sun rises today, Why not all black thoughts be put paid? Let’s march ahead, let daily chores, Be done, forgetting the dark night. Let’s fast no longer, have breakfast, Like cows grazing in morning light. • Written in abcb, 8-8-8-8 format • Initially written as entry 410810 in the book FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL, "FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL" M C Gupta 5 March 2006
