Standing dockside one Spring morning

    Spring

The moonlight's fullness shone on the bay,
this crisp Spring morn.
And songbirds announced another day,
that an ebbing tide had bore.

Dew had settled on dockside lumber,
forming drops of rain.
And flowers yawning from long sleep,
awakening to live again.

My love asleep; snuggled in blankets,
with innocence upon her face.
As I , with pen, captured this moment,
paused from the human race.

How wonderful is life, so simple, so new,
with goodness all around.
And the beauty of all the rebirth too,
as life again abounds.
