Hate Mail

Have any of you ever made a mistake, or hurt anyones feelings unknowingly and said I'm sorry only to have it threw back in your face? I had a contest, a successful one I thought. I notified all donaters about the winners and one did not fullfill hers. After she got wind of her non-fullfilling donation she e-mailed me saying she was never notified. I then sent her a copy of my email that I had sent out on the 13th to her. She lamblasted my contest saying no one liked it, it was a bust and all winners told her it was run shoddily and I didn't know what I was doing. The writers wrote me and said it was a great contest and they were happy with it. Meanwhile I get all kinds of hateful messages from her friends writtian anonmously of course saying they are sticking up for her. They haven't even inquired on the facts just busy sending bad emails to me. I did notify her and I have apologized for what yet I don't know but at least I did apologize especially if I hurt her feelings which I must have. But what about the winner who didn't get the prize? Thats the one I was concerned with! I wrote her, the donater, is it my fault she said she never got it? How was I supposed to know that? I give up! I hope she never makes a mistake or has a problem and ends up having someone do to her what she has done to me.
There was no reason to come unglued and refuse from the onset, to be an adult and talk things over. Yelling and threatening and having her followers write hate mail is not the way to communicate here but what can a person do except delete. I have no more answers and have tried everything to smooth things over but she refuses to even try. I think if others want to send hate mail they should be adult enough to sign their names not hide!
