Every weekend, I used to listen to my horoscope on the local radio station to get some positive advice about next week’s activities and important decisions to make towards my future.
One Saturday in January 2002, it was very cold in Quebec. I decided to enjoy myself in my warm apartment watching television. It was also time for me to have some fun listening to my horoscope on the radio. While I was listening, I was watching a TV program about life in Africa at the same time I found myself then mixed up between listening to the horoscopes and watching life in African camps. This is what happened to me:
As I was listening :
Aquarius (1/20-2/18)
“Life is not a race, it's an experience. Don't rush around -- just take your time.”
I was watching:
“Hundreds of African people almost dying queuing and moving slowly with an empty bowl in their hands”.
As I was listening:
Pisces (2/19-3/20)
“Make sure you keep your arguments logical and based on fact. Leave out emotions”
I was watching:
“A dying African boy lay in the arms of his mother with no expression on their faces”
As I was listening:
Aries (3/21-4/19)
“Romance is still in the air and today is a great time to meet someone that you connect with on many different levels”
I was watching:
“An African boy very like a skeleton and with no clothes playing with a skull”
As I was listening:
Taurus (4/20-5/20)
“Your energy level will be unpredictable today. Eating healthy will help you cope”
I was watching:
“An African mother was sharing three beans with her four children”
As I was listening:
Gemini (5/21-6/21)
“Today, get together with the people you love and keep the activity light and fun”.
I was watching:
“An African woman was trying to give milk to her baby from a dry dead breast”
As I was listening:
Cancer (6/22-7/22)
“This afternoon, everything may be pouring in at once--and it is all good news. Your career direction gets some encouragement and life's problems should find easy solutions”
I was watching:
“An African boy was dying in the middle of the dust and the others were looking on and praying their turn will come soon”
After a while, there was a commercial break on TV while the radio was still on. While I was trying to relax, the commercial showed beautiful healthy cats and dogs eating from a full bowl and the voice were saying: “Come and check our list for the most nutritional and safe food for your pets.” I had to turn off the radio because I believed pets do not need a horoscope…..maybe in the future.
Finally, I left my apartment for a warm walk under the snow.
