DON’T HURT A WOMAN
Man, do not hurt a woman, Your fair partner she is. I gave her to you so she May bring you my own bliss. Don’t forget how she was made: From the rib on your left. Why did I do so you must For a moment reflect. I did not choose your foot lest She may be walked upon; Neither from your head lest she Might take you straight head on. I made her from your side so You keep her by your side. Let both of you walk along And be each other’s guide. * Written in abcb, 7-6-7-6 format * Initially written as entry 411284 (now deleted) in Women’s and Gender Issues, "WOMEN'S AND GENDER ISSUES" M C Gupta 6 March 2006
