DREAM GIRL
I saw her, she conquered me, She was my beauty queen. She was like a white lily, So tender and serene. I thought she was simply like A budding rose fragrant That’s too shy to open up Among the thorns flagrant. She was like a silken cloud Gliding up in the sky, Comforting and relaxing To a weather-worn eye. She was like a butterfly, Her wings so colourful, Enchanting the flowers by, Her seek-and-hide playful. I kept on watching her till She was no more in sight. But she lives still in my dreams. I see her every night. • Written in abcb 7-6-7-6 format • Initially written as entry 378424 in "LOVE POEMS" M C Gupta 10 October 2005
