DREAMS OF FUTURE: a sonnet
Shall I dream what my future would be like? Or, shall I plan the shape of things to come? Shall, now, the thoughts of future woes me pike, Worrying how should I them overcome? Shall I design my moves as playing chess On this chess board, the canvass of my life? Shall I think, now, by what name I’ll address My future son and daughter and my wife? No, this is all mere worthless day-dreaming. This game of chess has been planned already By Him who’s always kind and well meaning. My every move for me He has ready. We should live always in the time present. Why dream of future, or the past repent? • Initially written as entry 427090 in the book FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL, "FAITH, NATURE & INSPIRATIONAL" M C Gupta 19 May 2006
