Storm clouds
ominously
rolling in from the west,
conceal the sun as if it were
midnight.

Thunderous
rumbles and claps
echo in the distance
and cresendo as the storm draws
nearer.

Raindrops
pelt the landscape,
falling one at a time,
until heaven opens her gates
and pours.

Static
seeks a release
creating a display
as it dances across the sky
and strikes.

Silence
belies fury
so violently unleashed.
And the storm weakens, giving way
to light
