Please let me be free to go with the breeze,
To rustle the leaves in autumn’s bright trees,
Stir them in colorful swirls on the ground,
While lifting them up to twirl all around.
I long to welcome spring blossoms each year,
Scatter the scent, see the fruit they will bear.
I’ll blow with the winds to lands far away
Settle in hollows to warm with the day.
Or cool with raindrops and dew from above,
Bear witness to signs of God’s perfect love.
Release me, leave me in nature’s embrace;
A cold lonely grave should not be my place.
In quiet wonder, please set my soul free,
At the time and place of my destiny.
