My Life
Rated: E | Poetry | Experience | #1459034
Title says it
Before me lies a book in silver and gold..
The title leaps into my mind, whirling as a cyclone.
Opening the cover, I read, the stories unfold
Leaf upon leaf the words journey through a lifetime.
From birth through adolescence his future he controlled.
Out of the teens and into adulthood, seeking maturity, he hurtled.
Newly found emotions Love, Lust, and others untold
A thousand new feelings rampaging within his mind and body
Pushing, pulling, leading in every direction his heart and soul
Love won, then lost, a new heart conquered or his own lost
Finally one path he follows, leaving behind those of old
Right or wrong? Was this the path best chosen?
Only time, the experience provider, will reveal what is cast by this mold.
With wife and children one is blessed or perhaps albatrossed.
Necessities must be provided, to maintain a life one must be bold
Time proves the path to lead into a void of reality
Lacking much needed friendship, each day goes deeper into the cold.
Through foolishness and passions lust, blind decisions made
So now it seems I must regress to buy back what it seems I sold.
