My Heaven And Earth
A discussion on the TV asked viewers what they thought was their Heaven and Earth...

My heaven and earth are all around,
within my home they always surround.
I look at my life on a daily basis
and within this room I find an oasis,
a haven safe from any evil intent.
My heaven and earth I do not invent.

It is there in the picture of the rolling sea,
it’s present in the things given to me.
The photos that remind me of family times,
this room in which I have written my rhymes,
The crystals and stones hewn from the ground.
My heaven and earth exists all around.

Within this room and inside my heart,
my heaven and earth are never apart
from me, from my thoughts, ideas and dreams;
my simple beliefs, that, somehow it seems
support me through life, help me cope.
My heaven and earth are brimming with hope.

Inspiration I find comes daily to me here,
but it is not only the place that is so dear.
It is the past the present, the still to come
and the sense that with God I will not succumb
to easy weak ways that wrong may conceal.
My heaven and earth keep me strong and real.

Within that strength I find my inner soul,
feel a sense of peace, feel a sense of whole.
Ready to face the future, uncertain at this time,
thankful for the gift of writing thoughts in rhyme;
thankful for all the love I’ve received since my birth.
My spirit and my faith are my heaven and earth.
