Sitting and Waiting
Rated: E | Poetry | Philosophy | #1459516
Another short look at life
Sitting and waiting,
But waiting for what?
The longer we’re waiting,
The more we’re forgot.

Sitting and waiting,
Hoping love will appear.
The longer we’re waiting,
The closer our tear.

Sitting and waiting,
A lifetime to share.
The longer we’re waiting,
The more we must bear.

Sitting and waiting
Our children we nurture.
The longer we’re waiting,
The brighter their future.

Sitting and waiting,
Soon children are gone.
The longer we’re waiting,
The living near done.

Sitting and waiting,
As time passes by.
The longer we’re waiting,
The sooner we die.
