The Goddess Revolution
A piece about revolution... duh.

The Goddess Revolution comes to me.
She speaks as my lover,
knowing me from beginning to end,
comforting me when she is near.

She says our spring will come early next year.
Morning rains and evening shade,
a flowered breeze to bathe in,
and blow this smoke away.

She speaks of a time when we raise our fists,
to beat down their heavy shields.
A time when we raise our consciousness,
high above their crooked laws.

She says we will take back our flag,
ripping it from the rigor grip of profit's hands.
The fruits of our labor she will protect,
and bestow on the child as yet unborn.

The Goddess Revolution will kiss our martyrs,
and should I fall, she will take me up,
she will open my eyes to the nobility of our cause.
I will see her beauty whole,
and embrace her forever more.
