It would be all just and fair if we could only dance to the rhythm of unity

Rhythm of unity

I close my eyes I see horror,
I open them and I see worse.

She stands alone with hopeless eyes looking where her house once stood.
She touches the broken walls, feeling and trying hard to understand.
Is it just and is it fair that she stands alone while we walk past?

He hears the screams and deafening blasts that rip his world in front of him.
He looks around to find him not knowing he has lost him forever.
Is it just and is it fair that he struggles alone while we stand by?

She holds on tightly to her shirt, too afraid of the world around her.
She sobs over what he has robbed from her, thinking if she would ever recover?
Is it just and is it fair that she is wounded but we just watch?

If only we could understand that they are us and we are them,
if only we would all forget the boundaries that split us apart.
It would be all just and fair if we could only dance to the rhythm of unity!

I close my eyes I see horror,
I open them and I see worse!
