Death Fractures the Mind
the mind shuts down at times

My mind is fractured with pain.
broken beyond repair.
Thoughts are not coherent.
Losing you is to much to bear.

Your heart quit beating last night.
Your soul flew to heaven alone.
Long after I shut off the light.
God had called you home.

Tonight I look at the star filled sky.
Wishing I were with you.
If only I could have kissed you goodbye
or at least went home with you.
