New Prompt: You are going to write a "found poem"

And for this poem, you are going to use at least three and maximum six titles of books. Highlight the titles, by bolding them. Be also aware to keep the line count.

I chose to use my favorite horse books:
Black Beauty
My Friend, Flicka
The Black Stallion
Inherit the Wind
The Horse Master’s Girl

Desolation

When I lost My Friend, Flicka,

The Black Stallion of the night

raised me up and ordered me

to be valiant, to Inherit the Wind.

I was The Horse Master’s Girl

but I could not mount flying currents

Or harness the wind-chaffed seas.

Thus, I wept in the lonesome valley,

Displaying my Black Beauty as a deficit.

With the eyes of morning, I sank.
