Standing still, beneath the cotton-clouds,
The world lies quiet. The silent hum of life, A mere mile away. Peering over, against the ledge break waves, Yet the rocks persist, endurance they have. ‘Tis not mine today. Stepping away, the mist seeps slowly in, Shivers, trickling thorns, percolate my flesh No, I cannot stay O! I do try, but I cannot keep away. Embers of hope, please, permeate mine heart! Hope! She was my last.
