When a loved one is far away

    This Thing Called Love

A heart quickened by words,
of longing lovers, distant.
Miles upon miles away, a voice heard,
reassurring and insistant.

Come home soon, precious,
my heart is just acheing.
Your kiss to me Delicious,
I'm here ,day and night waiting.

Such a beautiful thing is love,
pure as fresh fallen snow.
Given as a gift from above,
making the weakest heart glow.

I'll run to your arm's embrace,
hold on, and never let go.
It's all written in your face,
your voice and smile, say so.

Thank you, God, for making me,
and allowing me to live so long.
And blessing me with eyes to see,
a place for my heart to call home.
