Says the nut to the shell:

         “I saw
         birth
         and variety—
         there is light,
         and sky,
         and our mother,

              the tree!”

Says the shell to the nut:

          “Heretic!
You must be hallucinating or sick!
                    I know what I know
                                        and darkness abounds . . .

Believe me:

      there’s nothing around
      but ground!”
