STARLESS NIGHTS

STARLESS NIGHTS

He gives us stars and rainbows
When He feels we need to see,
Creation in all its glory is shown
As one of nature's mysteries.

No stars appear in the summer night
Yet I know that they are still there -
We have to believe in things unseen
And trust in God's unfailing care.

Clouds cover for just a little while;
He knows we need the time to rest
Instead of counting the many stars
With which we are richly blessed.

We need this time, this solitude,
To turn away from Heavenly lights
And kneel to thank Him for the gift
Of all those quiet starless nights.

Oh, I may never see His gentle face
Yet I know that He surely is still there
We have to believe in things unseen
And trust in God's unfailing care.
