When a spouse leaves

My mommy left daddy.
she just walked away.
I guess she forgot me.
Cause I'm only three.

I run to the door.
It slams shut in my face.
I want my mommy.
with me in this place.

My dad hugs me tight,
drying my tears.
Letting me know.
My world is alright.

So now it's only
My daddy and me.
Mommy has left us
and I'm only three.
