                                          Ghazal 164


Persian:  Ba dour e laala qadeh geer o bay riya meebaash
              Ba boo e gul nafasay hamdam e saba meebaash
Urdu:      Ba dour e laala qadeh geer o bay riya bun ja
              Ba boo e gul nafasay hamdam e saba bun ja

English:=== The spring is here; let's drink some wine
                  Let's enjoy the breeze, on the lawn recline
                                                  -

Persian:  Nagooyamat keh hama saal maiparasti kun
              Seh mah mai khur o nuh mah paarsa meebaash
Urdu:      Kaha yeh kis nay keh masinoush saal bhar ho too
              Seh meh sharaab pee, nou mah paarsa bun ja

English:=== I don't mean to say, you drink all the time
                  But drinking in springtime is not a crime
                                                  -

Persian:  Chun peer e saalik e ishqat ba mai hawaala kunad
              Banoosh, muntazar e rehmat e Khuda meebaash
Urdu:      Jo peer e saalik e ulfat ata karay baada
              Too pee kay muntazar e rehmat e Khuda bun ja

English:=== And if our abbot offers you some wine
                  You should thank God, and do not decline
                                                      -

Persian:  Garat hawast keh chu Jum ba sirr e ghaib rasi
              Bia o hamdam e jaam e jahaan numa meebash
Urdu:        Jo chahay Jum ki terheh tujh pay raaz e ghaib khulaen
              Too pee kay hamdam e jaam e jahaan numa bun ja

Persian:  Chu ghuncha gar cheh faroobastagiest kaar e jahaan
              Too hamchu baad e bahaari girahkusha maabaash
Urdu:      Hay misl e ghuncha lagaana girah jo kaar e jahaan
              Too misl e baad e bahaari girahkusha bun ja

English:=== The problems of the world if you want to solve
                  In the affairs of life you should yourself involve
                                                    -

Persian:  Wafa majooie zay kas war sulkhan nameeshunawi
              Ba harza taalib e seemurgh o keemia maabaash
Urdu:      Talab maen umr agar raigaan hi kerni hay
              Ba shouq talib e seemurgh o keemia bun ja

English:=== But the saying of the mystics you cannot neglect
                  And loyalty from the world you shouldn't expect
                                                      -

Persian:  Mureed e taat e baigaangaan mashoo HAFIZ
              Walay maashir e rindaan e aashna meebaash
Urdu:      Mureed e taat e baigaangaan na ho HAFIZ
              Chal aur maashir e rindaan e aashna bun ja

                  In the company of topers you should try to be
