GRUMPY OLD WOMEN Grumpy old women fall apart at the seams
The day that it hits us...we'll not reach all our dreams. Our children all grown, now have lives of their own Our joints begin creaking, we try hard not to moan. The man that we have spent our lives trying to please Doesn't have the energy to tickle or tease. He listens, but you know so perfectly well He now won't remember what you have to tell. So we sit in our chair a good part of our day And we can't even think what we wanted to say. It's just too far to go when we walk 'round the block If visitors should come, we just don't hear them knock. It's hard to remember what we mixed up in the pan But we try anyway, just to please our dear man. Food just doesn't taste right without spices and salt Must we try and count calories, while making a malt? Although we've worked hard for retirement and ease We still bow our head, but can't get down on our knees. So..please God, understand us 'cause no one else does And we really don't want to create a big fuss. But sometimes we lose patience~Can't find it anywhere... We get so tired looking that we just sit in our chair. Some may call us "Grumpy" should we ever complain Getting old is not funny, it's more of a pain. So treasure your youth, have lots of fun while you can Too soon you'll be old with your Grumpy Old Man!
