IN THE SHADOW OF THE CROSS

My world had fallen down around me and I felt so all alone,
I didn't know which way to turn or if I'd find my way home.
In church on Sunday morning I bowed my head in prayer
and in the shadow of the cross, I found the answers there.

In the shadow of the cross I could feel His saving grace,
in the shadow of the cross I could see His gentle face.
He loves us just as we are, all He asks is "Follow Me"
and in the shadow of the cross, we will all be set free.

Our sins have been forgiven for Jesus paid the cost.
He reaches down to lift us up before our spirit can be lost.
A sense of peace and quiet comfort filled my soul today
for I know He cares for me, even when I've lost my way.

In the shadow of the cross I could feel His saving grace,
in the shadow of the cross I could see his gentle face.
He loves us just as we are, all He asks is "Follow Me"
and in the shadow of the cross we will all be set free.

The morning sun shone brightly through the windowpane;
the wooden cross upon the wall in shadow would remain.
a reminder of His love for us who need Him by our side,
that in His arms we will be welcomed and forever abide.

In the shadow of the cross I could feel His saving grace,
in the shadow of the cross I could see his gentle face.
He loves us just as we are, all He asks is "Follow Me"
and in the shadow of the cross we will all be set free.
