In agony, I said to you, "Everything will be alright." Knowing I would never live Beyond this precious night. As I gazed upon your teary eyes The right words escaped me Yet, in agony, I said to you, "Live your dreams and be free." It took all of my strength To wipe away your tears Though my heart was shattered I smiled to ease your fears. Through quiet sobs you planted A kiss upon my sweaty brow Still, in agony, I said to you, "Keep the faith. Don't give up now." For the pain was too great And my skin was turning blue. In agony I said my last words to you, "Thank you for loving me, and remaining true."
