CRAVE HIS BLESSINGS
Why crave my friend that I should This day wish and bless you? My wishes do not matter, Although His blessings do. I’m merely an instrument Of His eternal peace. My task is to carry out Whatever He may please. If He may be pleased to give You His own special gift, From mental morass, He will Your spirits truly lift. If His pleasure lies in that He may bring you some pain, Then of no consequence will All my wishes remain. So, friend, better covet His Blessings, rather than mine. Maybe the Lord Himself will Give you His grace and sign. • Written in abcb rhyme, 7-6-7-6 meter M C Gupta 26 August 2008
