DREAMER’S WEB: a sonnet

It’s true that world has seen two ghastly wars
And yet a third one may have still its time.
While man has plans to go to moon and stars,
The danger bells on earth do truly chime.

The threat of pollution is alarming.
The fossil fuels are depleting fast.
The greenhouse gases leading to warming,
For too long man may not on this earth last.

These horror scenes of future are too strong.
But, should my dreamer’s web I simply kill?
I still hope the sad predictions are wrong.
Why should we not with hope the future fill?

The prophets of doom, why don’t you retire?
In humanity’s embers still there’s fire.
