The Speedy Rat and the Slow Turtle
The children of today dealing with their elders - a poem.

The speedy rat races
While the slow turtle crawls,
Slowness is what the turtle faces,
Coming home after numerous calls.
The rat has miscues another erases
While the elder turtle never stalls.

The rat tallies all of its aces
Cutting through the turtle’s walls.
For young ones often have no stasis,
Their folks at home in suburban sprawls.
The rats quickly go through spaces
While the turtle rarely falls.

Taking chances, too many to mention,
Making friends and peers happy.
Speeches to get the young one’s attention,
To nurture trust and honesty.
Teaching through grounding or detention
A teacher or principal kept busy.

Pressure causing so much tension,
Breaking laws and ignoring safety.
Rats and turtles in suspension,
But the ending certain to be,
The youth’s final drive and ascension
And elders cheering so proudly!
