Sight

I CAN SEE

I saw a butterfly today
with yellow wings, like a flying flower.
I saw a green tree and a marigold
I looked down the vista of a river
and the beauty of it caught my breath.

I saw a sky today,
with thunderheads glowering .
I saw a baseball game
and a crowd cheering.
I saw faces today of people I love.
I read words today printed on a page.

If this seems ordinary to you
the difference is this:
you were never blind.
I was blind and now I see.
and everything see
brings me joy!
