He stood on old battle grounds
Where his love had been gained
Where his loss was attained
Where his life was changed

He could see beyond any dream
That someday their love would be real
Each time it ended in bitter dispute
But her love was something he could feel

I’m compelled to find out again
What our love could have been
I searched for some peaceful meaning
In my arms I want her to be leaning

Never really figured her out
I should try to learn all about
The way her eyes send desire
In flames of love’s burning fire

For the times they spent life together
They were two people like birds of a feather
Not knowing for sure on what course they’re bound
Not knowing on what lost island they’d be found

Blinded by the light that wouldn’t let them see
We found out how to block it out
Bound by the vow that could never be
Wants her back, that’s what love is about

He found her smile next to the sun
The brightest thing in his life
He found it easy to stay than to run
And understanding each other it had begun

And things are stirring again
A mixture in his heart called love
Will hatred be remembered and remain?
Or will it fly into the sky above?

He found her hand next to  his
then he reach to touch
She turned and looked and said ‘remember this’
Their eyes fixed on one another, she gave him a kiss

Can that old magic come back again?
Old memories are nice but has been
Then he reached out to touch
hoping, love again, will be such.
